The venue is small, the crowd is no where to be seen except a few mixed supporters in the front. The band are about to hit the stage at 9:15, cheers come from the small crowd. People start to come in and the seats start to fill up. The first song starts up. The crowd is unprepared for what is about to them with the gentle start to the opening song called ‘Ignorance’. The chorus starts and Rich (lead vocals/guitar) screams and shout in tune. The audience looks on in a mix of surprise and amazement that then turned into appreciation, people nodding along to the tune. The night rolls on, the second song sets in, more and more people enter the pub. This being a normal thing to happen on Friday nights, but on this occasion people were paying attention to the band unlike, as I myself tend to do, use the band as a bit of annoying background noise. By 9:30 the venue is packed and people are still pouring in. The first half continues with songs like ‘Run Away Train’ (soul asylum) and ‘coming clean’ (Green Day). 9:45 the band take a small break, 15 minutes later they are back on back on stage.

In the second half we are treated to the wonderful ‘Jail Rider’ (Candlewax) and ‘Freak’ (Silverchair) and loads more with an encore to finish. With a Slipknot style version of the above mentioned ‘Freak’ and a number of other favourites from the band with the fantastic ‘Good Riddance’ (Green Day) as the set closer performed solely by Rich.

The performance was excellent for their first pub gig. They seemed as if they we’re experts. Nicks drumming was on time, Glenn’s Bass playing was on form, David’s singing was there, having little experience at singing and no experience performing in front of people my hat goes off to you. If you were there for the sound check you would have thought Rich was a different person to who was playing the guitar. He was reluctant, during the sound check, to speak into the microphone. But when he strapped the guitar on a new person springs to life.
